'made in png' showcases papua new guinea

producers

Manufacturing, agribusiness, fisheries and forestry sectors have much to offer.

April 26, 2011

This month sees the release of the first publication to focus exclusively on Papua New Guinea's non-mining sectors. Made in PNG has been produced by Business Advantage in partnership with the Manufacturers Council of PNG to showcase PNG's produce and producers.

'Papua New Guinea's dynamic mining, petroleum and gas industry is perceived to
overshadow its other major industry sectors in the eyes of the business world. In fact, it is
the Pacific nation's other productive sectors—agribusiness, fisheries, manufacturing and
forestry—that provide most Papua New Guineans with their livelihoods,' says Muray Woo, Chairman of the Manufacturers Council, in his foreword to the publication.

The publication highlights just how many different products and non-mineral commodities are produced in PNG - everything from paint and fabricated steel, to coffee and cocoa, canned tuna, palm oil and quality timber furniture. Increasingly, such produce is successfully reaching global markets.

Made in PNG is the essential guide to all this produce and much more for business leaders and trading partners.
